On Thursday, May 4, the Louisiana House of Representatives passed HB1 (state budget) with cuts that would decimate critical state services, including many programs and services that directly and indirectly affect people with disabilities. The budget will now go through the legislative process in the Senate. Effective collective advocacy will be key to avoiding devastating cuts.
You are invited to attend a briefing and discussion with members of the Governor’s Staff, leaders of state agencies, and other stakeholders and advocates regarding the impact of cuts to services for people with disabilities. Please RSVP to Jolan.Jolivette@la.gov.
