Lighthouse Louisiana is celebrating National Disability Employment Awareness Month and Blindness Awareness Month with a Day of Inclusion! Anyone who believes in inclusion and empowerment of people with disabilities is welcome to attend, including the disability community, parents, employers, and advocates. The event will feature a range of speakers presenting different aspects of disability inclusion; a blind-folded white cane walk, a learning ASL activity, and tours of the Lighthouse. Speakers include: The Honorable Dale Atkins, and Lifecity's Liz Shepard, EEOC Attorney Andrew Kingsley and keynote Isidore Niyongabo.

Isidore Niyongabo was born and raised in Burundi and became Deaf at 10 years old. Since then, life has taken him on an unexpected journey and today he is the HR Manager at Convo and a global advocate for Deaf rights as the founder and president of International Deaf Education, Advocacy & Leadership (IDEAL), Inc.

Registration, coffee & donuts at 8:30am, speakers at 9:00am, activities at 10:00am
