BATON ROUGE – Today, Governor Bobby Jindal announced that Gary Graphia will serve as Executive Counsel for the Governor’s Office. Graphia will replace Elizabeth Murrill who will now become Executive Counsel for the Division of Administration. Graphia will begin the new role on October 16. 

Gary Graphia most recently served as Executive Vice President for The Shaw Group Inc. where he oversaw corporate development, mergers and acquisitions and client relations. Before that, Graphia held several positions at Shaw including Chief Operating Officer, Executive Vice President for Corporate Development and Strategy and Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary.

Before joining Shaw, Graphia was a partner at the law firm of Kean, Miller, Hawthorne, D'Armond, McCowan & Jarman. He previously practiced law at Phelps Dunbar after serving as Assistance Vice President at the Texas Commerce Bank National Association. Graphia received his bachelor’s degree  and Juris Doctorate from Louisiana State University.
