Nov 16, 2012 BATON ROUGE - Today, Governor Bobby Jindal announced appointments to the D.A.R.E. Advisory Board. The D.A.R.E. Advisory Board serves to develop, promote, monitor and evaluate the D.A.R.E. Program throughout the state of Louisiana and regulate the Louisiana Commission on Law Enforcement regarding the performance of its duties in relation to the D.A.R.E. Program. According to the executive order, the board is comprised of thirteen members, who shall be appointed by and serve at the pleasure of the governor, selected as follows:
Appointments to the D.A.R.E. Advisory Board: Wes Watts, of Baton Rouge, is the Principal at Zachary High School. Watts will be appointed to serve as a principle representing a Louisiana public school, as required by executive order. Darren Powell, of Mandeville, is employed with the Mandeville Police Department. Powell will be appointed to serve as the president of the Louisiana D.A.R.E. Officers’ Association, as required by executive order. ### |
