BATON ROUGE – Today, Governor Bobby Jindal announced the appointment of Barry Hines to the Grant Parish Port Commission.
The Grant Parish Port Commission serves to regulate the commerce, and traffic, of the port area in such manner that serves the public’s interest.
According to statute, the board is comprised of five members, subject to senate confirmation. Two members are appointed by the governing authority of the parish of Grant, two members are appointed by the governing authority of the town of Colfax, and one member is appointed directly by the governor of the State of Louisiana.
Barry Hines, of Alexandria, is the owner of Quality Care Givers, Inc., a health care facility with locations in Louisiana and Texas. Hines will be appointed to serve as a member appointed by the Governor, as required by statute.
