Dec 28, 2012 BATON ROUGE – As a part of the Jindal family’s initiative to feature young artists, Louisiana’s First Lady Supriya Jindal announced today the artwork that was selected for display in Louisiana’s Governor’s Mansion for the month of December. This month the student art wall features ornaments created by students from across Louisiana in celebration of Louisiana’s Bicentennial. Additionally, throughout the Mansion, ornaments created by students from all sixty-four parishes in Louisiana hang on display. Mrs. Jindal would like to invite all to schedule a tour and view the Mansion decorated for the holidays. “For the fifth year in a row, the Governor and I are fortunate to have the honor of displaying ornaments in the Governor’s Mansion personalized by the truly talented students of Louisiana,” said First Lady Supriya Jindal. Mrs. Jindal continued, “This year, the students highlighted our State’s uniqueness by creating personalized ornaments celebrating the Bicentennial of our great State.” Also on display at the Governor’s Mansion is an ornament created by artist Jo Busse and students at Legacy Elementary in Monroe, Louisiana. The students created twenty-four ornaments that currently hang on the State tree in Washington DC, with an additional one hanging on the National Christmas Tree on the Elipse in President’s Park.
