Gov. Jindal Announces Press Secretary and Deputy Press Secretary

BATON ROUGE – Today, Governor Bobby Jindal announced that Sean Lansing will serve as Press Secretary and Shannon Bates will serve as Deputy Press Secretary.

Sean Lansing most recently served as Communications Director at Wisconsin's John K. MacIver Institute for Public Policy. Previously, Lansing served as Press Secretary for Eric Hovde's U. S. Senate campaign and as Communications Director for Wisconsin's Assembly Majority Leader during the 2011-12 Legislative Session. Lansing has a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Wisconsin.

Shannon Bates most recently served as a spokesperson for the Governor’s Office. Prior to this role, Bates held various positions in the Chief of Staff’s office and the press office. Bates has a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication from the Louisiana State University
