Governor Bobby Jindal Announces Reappointments to the Louisiana Cemetery Board

BATON ROUGE – Today, Governor Bobby Jindal announced reappointments to the Louisiana Cemetery Board.

The Louisiana Cemetery Board’s duties include, but are not limited to, licensing cemetery authorities and cemetery sales and management organizations, registering exempt cemetery authorities, and monitoring pre-construction and pre-development sales by cemetery authorities.

According to statute, the board is comprised of seven gubernatorial appointments, subject to senate confirmation. One member must be appointed from each of the five public service commission districts, and two members will serve as at-large members. Each member representing a public service commission district must be nominated by the Louisiana Cemeteries Association.

Reappointments to the Louisiana Cemetery Board:

Stacey Patin, of Pineville, is the owner of Greenwood Memorial Park. Patin will be reappointed to serve as a representative of Public Service Commission District 4, as required by statute.

Marilyn Leufroy, of Morganza, is a compliance officer for the Office of the Attorney General within the Louisiana Department of Justice, and notary public for Point Coupee Parish. Leufroy will be reappointed to serve as an at-large member, as required by statute.
