Mar 09, 2013 BATON ROUGE - Today, Governor Bobby Jindal announced appointments to the Louisiana Commission on Law Enforcement and Administration of Criminal Justice. Louisiana Commission on Law Enforcement and Administration of Criminal Justice serves to oversee and encourage the adoption of methods by which law enforcement can be made more effective and justice can be administered more efficiently and fairly. It also helps to coordinate programs throughout the state in areas relating to the police, the courts, and corrections. According to statute, the commission is comprised of fifty-five members as follows:
Additionally, each gubernatorial appointee is subject to senate confirmation. Appointments to the Commission on Law Enforcement and Administration of Criminal Justice: Bob Buckley, of Marion, is the Sheriff of Union Parish. Buckley will be appointed to serve as a professional that has a vital concern with law enforcement and the administration of criminal justice, as required by statute. Hillar Moore, of Baton Rouge, is the District Attorney for East Baton Rouge Parish. Moore will be appointed to serve as a professional that has a vital concern with law enforcement and the administration of criminal justice, as required by statute. William “Bill” Landry, of Gonzales, is retired and was the former Chief of Police for the Gonzales Police Department. Landry will be reappointed to serve as an at-large member that has a vital concern with law enforcement and the administration of criminal justice, as required by statute. James “Jay” Lemoine, of Colfax, is the District Attorney for Grant Parish. Lemoine will be reappointed to serve as a professional that has a vital concern with law enforcement and the administration of criminal justice, as required by statute. Anthony “Tony” Mancuso, of Lake Charles, is the Sheriff of Calcasieu Parish. Mancuso will be reappointed to serve as a professional that has a vital concern with law enforcement and the administration of criminal justice, as required by statute. Steve Prator, of Shreveport, is the Sheriff of Caddo Parish. Prator will be reappointed to serve as a sheriff, as required by statute. Carlos Stout, of Carencro, is the Chief of Police for the Carencro Police Department. Stout will be reappointed to serve as a police chief, as required by statute. Jeff Wiley, of Gonzales, is the Sheriff for Ascension Parish and is the chairman of the commission. Wiley will be reappointed to serve as a sheriff, as required by statute. Jacob “Mac” Dickinson, of Harahan, is the Chief of Police for the Harahan Police Department. Dickinson will be appointed to serve as a police chief, as required by statute. Reed Walters, of Jena, is the District Attorney for LaSalle Parish. Walters will be appointed to serve as a professional that has a vital concern with law enforcement and the administration of criminal justice, as required by statute. David Burton, of Deridder, is the District Attorney for Beauregard Parish. Burton will be appointed to serve as a professional that has a vital concern with law enforcement and the administration of criminal justice, as required by statute. ### |
